Studies in East Anglian Histories and Cultures – Book Series
The UEA Centre of East Anglian Studies is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Woodbridge-based publishing company, Boydell & Brewer. Over the years, many UEA academics have published their work with the various Boydell series, including monographs, edited volumes, and journals. This partnership marks a landmark next step towards a more formal working relationship.
Founded in 1969 by medieval historian and Arthurian Richard Barber, in 1978, Boydell press merged with D.S. Brewer (set up by Chaucer specialist Derek Brewer) to create an independent publishing house focused on medieval history and literature. Since then, the company has continued to grow, and now publishes on subjects across the humanities, including medieval history and literature, but also modern history, literature and languages, with a global distribution.
Our new publication series, Studies in East Anglian Histories and Cultures, will function as a venue for the publication of academic monographs and essay collections relating to East Anglian subject matter from all periods of history and all academic disciplines. Currently, our first proposed publications will include a new history of the abbey and estates of Bury St Edmunds in the later Middle Ages, and a volume of essays exploring the study Fenland landscapes, cultures, and literatures, from the medieval period to the present day.
The series is curated by a board of editors, who are members of the Centre of East Anglian Studies:
Dr Charlie Rozier (Medieval History)
Dr Rebecca Pinner (Medieval Literature)
Dr Joel Halcomb (Early Modern Studies)
Dr Richard Mills (Modern History)
Anyone wishing to publish their academic work in this series is warmly encouraged to send their ideas to the series director, Dr Charlie Rozier: c.rozier@uea.ac.uk
